Wildcat Roam The Red Carpet for "High School Musical 3: Senior Year"

Bringing the cast and crew back together for "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" was the culmination of the High School Musical trilogy. Here's a quick recap of the premiere held at USC's Galen Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Kenny Ortega.

Last night definitely was the night for anyone that's a fan of the "High School Musical" films. Jumping from the small screen to the big screen was a task in itself. Bringing the sights, sounds and music had Kenny Ortega and crew ensuring that this would be the best High School Musical" film yet.

The Wildcats of East High took over two city blocks of Los Angeles causing an exciting traffic jam as fans lined the street bordering University of Southern California. From the marquee of "High School Musical" to gigantic posters plastered throughout the red carpet exuded the excite of the film even if you were not a fan of the films.

The tv show Extra had an extra special photo booth for the celebrities to take a shot of themselves on the Extra stage with usnaps.com's photo booth.

Alongside the photo booth, guests were given pompoms to cheer on the talent while watching the film. The screams in the air while the stars showed up was drowned out as the USC Marching Band took the the carpet with their drums, trumpets and all the musical instruments that enhances the Go! Fight! Win! spirit lifted the spirits of the premiere goers.

As the calvacade of celebrities from the Disney shows such as "Wizards of Waverly Place," made their way down the carpet, we finally saw the cast slowly come through. First off was Alyson Reed who played Ms. Darbus. How young she looked without the glasses and the wig.

Alyson Reed.

Then Kaycee Stroh strolled on the carpet with a lovely beige number that flowed on her nicely. As she was being interviewed by ET, she showed us why she was a part of the "High School Musical" phenomena with her hip-hop shoulder moves.

Kaycee Stroh.

Ryne Sanborn took to the carpet in a dapper suit. Selena Gomez of "Wizards of Waverly Place" was looking cute as ever. Looks like she's going to give Miley Cyrus a run for her money.

Ryne Sanborn.

David Henrie arrived with Lucy Hale of the tv show "Priviledged."

Madison Pettis definitely had her game plan on for the premiere as she waved and smiled for the cameras.

Finally after a long wait, Ashley Tisdale made it to the red carpet with a new hair color. No more blond for this sexy chick as she plans to release a more rocky and edgier album this coming February or April.

Ashley Tisdale.

As she walked the carpet the photographers went crazy trying to get her attention to look at her camera. Thankfully for me, I did a 1:1 interview with her this past Sunday. So when I took my camera away from my face, I waved at Ashley hoping she'd remember my face from the interview. To my surprise she stared into my camera lens for a good 30-45 seconds which is really good when shooting the big name stars of the movie.

Oleysa Rulin was sporting a nice tan and piercing eyes that were hidden behind glasses in the film.

Vanessa Hudgens wore a beige dress. As she was being interviewed by ET, Ashley came back from the other end of the carpet to make sure to say surprise and say hi to her. Was a bit cute to see them shriek at each other in excitement.

Vanessa has a cute smile.

However, Zac Efron's appearance made more girls shriek on the streets surrounding the event as he exited from his limo. Looking all dapper and fresh from a new tan, Zac helped mesmerize the fans into excitement.

Zac freshly groomed.

After the last celebrity left along with the majority of the photographers, Paula Abdul showed long after the press were wrapping up. Not a single photographer took a shot of her. I tried to get her attention by shouting, "Hey, Paula!" Didn't work...It was like a Sunday driver with no cares in the world and not paying attention to her surroundings.

Monique Coleman.

Corbin Bleu

Oh well, that was the red carpet event for "High School Musical 3: Senior Year."

At least I know I made a young girl happy. More importantly my niece Madison as she was able to experience the excitement of a premiere for a movie she loves.

Until next time, "Over The Shoulder!" And don't forget to watch "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" this coming October 24, 2008.

Check out the quick b-roll shot of Eva and Tony walking the carpet.

Dania Ramirez was also present. She garnered a lot of attention on the carpet with her sexy pink lipstick and her modelesque pose off for the photographers.

Abigail Breslin is an American Girl

What do you get when you take the hottest young child actress in Hollywood today and a live action movie about the American Girl doll? It's Abigail Breslin as Kit Kittredge in "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl."

Lisa Rinna holds her daughter's American Girl Doll.

This past Saturday, June 14, 2008, The Grove in Los Angeles hosted the World Premiere of Picturehouse's Kit Kittredge: American Girl." Along with Abigail Breslin, the film stars Julia Ormond, Chris O'Donnell (remember him as Robin in Batman), Joan Cusack, Stanley Tucci, and Willow Smith (daughter of Will Smith).

It was a weird venue for the premiere of this movie, but I guess since the American Girl store is located at The Grove, what better place to have the premiere. With the cost of $90 a pop, there were young girls galore showing off their American Girl dolls. The special thing about these dolls is that a little girl can chose the color of the hair, eyes, skin tone and whatever else matter to match her looks. I brought my niece with me to the premiere and told her not to ask for a doll. But of course she ends up pleading to get one. Even with her puppy dog eyes and pouting lips I resisted from getting one.

She was upset though which surprised me. I guess when you was searching for a doll that resembled her, she was a bit distraught. Being of mixed race of 1/2 Filipina, 1/4 French and 1/4 Swede or what we American of Filipino descent call mestiza, she couldn't find a doll to call her own. She didn't dwell upon as much as the red carpet started.

Walking the red carpet included some child actors from various tv shows. One that excited the crowd was Selena Gomez.

Known for her character in "Wizards of Waverly Place," Selena put a spell on the crowd as they showed for Selena. I was able to employ my niece, Madison, to scream, "Selena! Over your Shoulder!" Wow it definitely worked better for a 8 year girl to shout it out. Selena gave my niece a big smile and wave then came the "Over The Shoulder Pose." Hmm. Maybe I should bring my niece more often.

Another big crowd please with Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and family. Photogs were guessing if the Smiths would show up or not. I knew better as this is one of the first major role that Will's daughter, Willow, is in.

The Smith Clan.

Willow Smith makes her major acting debut.

Willow is definitely a ham for the camera. A nice girl that loves to pose for the camera. What a natural. I think some celebrities could learn from the young Smith. Mama Smith - Jada Pinkett Smith - knows how to wear jeans. She was looking great and especially when she gave me an over the shoulder pout, it made my day.

Over the Shoulder Jada!

Other guests included Lisa Rinna and husband Harry Hamlin with their children. I wished Harry a Happy Father's day. At first he didn't hear but Lisa tugged on his arm to get his attention as I repeated "Happy Father's Day." Got a little wave from the Mr. Harry.

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin

Emma Roberts showed up and is definitely growing up to become a beautiful woman. Once she finished the step and repeat for the photogs, she was ready to walk in the theater and skip video interviews. However, that was not to be. As she did her last pose, her publicist or I think manager corralled her to speak to E! She turned her face our way and gave a sigh like something akin to "Oh my gosh! i don't feel like talking." Who could blame her especially since it was a bright warm sunny day.

Mentioning the bright and sunny day, the majority of adult celebs were wearing sunglasses and didn't really want to take them off. One celeb who gave a definite no was Rachel Bilson. With that said, a few photogs quiped amongst each other, "Oh she must of partied too hard last night." I didn't mind since her sunglasses weren't tinted too dark.

Girl! Take off those glasses. Ha Miss Bilson still can show off her smile even without seeing her eyes.

The star of the movie, Miss Abigail Breslin definitely had her work cut out for her from smiling and dealing with the deluge of flashes from the cameras. She's definitely a trouper has she keep her smile warm and charming but you could see it was wearing thin on her.

Well, it's time for me to move on as the heat I'm bearing right now as I type is wearing thin on me. Until next time, "Over The Shoulder!"

10,000 BC comes to the present on the red carpet

Last night was a nice evening for a red carpet premiere at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. We treated to the caveman days with the U.S. premiere of "10,000 B.C" Talk amongst some of the photogs were the possibility of this movie being a sleeper hit to some who said "Who's going to watch this movie." Well, I was in the camp of the sleeper hits as seeing the great effects from the animals to how the actors had to communicate with each other. I have a bet that Camilla Belle is the new Raquel Welch. If any of you remember the old caveman movie that Raquel Welch did way back when, Camilla Belle brought back memories.

As she walked the red carpet, she wore a printed black dress with her cute straight hair flowing down her back. She was joined by cast mates Steven Strait, young Nathanael Baring, Joel Virgel, Cliff Curtis and curly haired Reece Ritchie and director/producer Roland Emmerich.

According to the Yahoo's movie site, the film is about "In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter, D'Leh, has found his heart's passion - the beautiful Evolet. When a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh is forced to lead a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. Driven by destiny, the unlikely band of warriors must battle saber-tooth tigers and prehistoric predators and, at their heroic journey's end, they uncover a Lost Civilization. Their ultimate fate lies in an empire beyond imagination, where great pyramids reach into the skies. Here they will take their stand against a powerful god who has brutally enslaved their people. "

A few guests included the lovely Garcelle Beauvais. She definitely knows how to work the red carpet especially when a photog can capture her staring at the camera. James Woods made a quick entry. Fantastic 4 star Chris Evans definitely was quick like a brush fire to walk through the red carpet. I'd say he got through that carpet in 2 minutes flat. Tim Roth was one to walk quickly through the carpet also.

Camilla Belle's over the shoulder pose.

Garcelle Beauvais in a demin dress!!

Chris Evans was just like fire on the carpet.

Wow! Michelle Trachtenberg actually looked at my camera. A miracle!!

April Scott is hot hot hot!!!

The young Nathanael Baring took his first red carpet event in stride.

Steven Strait has the best smile of 2008.

Reece Ritchie makes his way past the wooly mammoth.

We were also treated to Christian Oliver, starring in the upcoming "Speed Racer" movie. Can't wait to see that film. I've been watching the trailer of that movie every few days. Go Speed Racer Go!!!!

Christian Oliver gives a thumbs up to "10,000 B.C."

James Woods cracks a smile for the photogs!!!

Check out the trailer of "10,000 B.C." I'm sure you'll like this movie for the effects especially if it's from the producers of "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow."

Discrimination on the red carpet!!!!!!

"Oh my God!" was my reaction tonight at the Movieguide Awards at the Beverly Hilton. You may ask why. In the eight years of working in the entertainment industry, I never thought I'd be blatantly discriminated against. But tonight would change all that. As I was waiting for the red carpet to start with all the other photographers in the photo area with our press badges around our necks, I was singled out by a white rent-a-cop security (all the other photogs around me were caucasian). He came up to me and asked for my press badge. I guess to see if I belonged there. I turned to the photographer to the left of me and said, "What was that all about?" He said, "I don't know. That's weird. He didn't ask for my badge." All of a sudden, another photographer behind me said, "Oh wow! You were just discriminated against."

I shouted out, "Are you serious, was I just discriminated against because of my brown skin? Oh my God, you might be right, I'm the only non-white here in the photo section." The photog behind me said, "Yeah, I think you were. I have to take a picture of you and put it on my blog and talk about it on my site."

I was dumbfounded. The good thing was that I kind of brushed it off and did my job. I really think that this rent-a-cop didn't realize he had singled me out and by singling me out, he had subconsciously discriminated against me. The other photogs and I started to joke about it from saying "Oh, maybe he thinks you're muslim, maybe he thinks you're a trouble maker!" etc, etc....

I am one not to pull the race card but if all these other caucasian photogs said I was discriminated against then maybe I was.

Well I got my last laugh, when he walked into the press room and saw me, I flashed my badge and rent-a-cop just turned away...

Anyways...even though the Movieguide Awards is a faith and value based awards show, I will not be posting any photos from the event especially since I was allegedly discriminated at a show that should be about respect for others which respect was not given me by an overzealous rent-a-cop.

QUEEN AND KATE GET MAD MONEY

Another day, another premiere. This time the red carpet was actually green at the Mann's Village Theater this past January 9. Rumors abound if Tom Cruise would attend the premiere of Mad Money with his wife. There were the peeps who said "No" because he didn't want to hog the limelight. To the surprise of the media, he did show up but didn't hog the limelight the same way he didn't hog Will Smith's hand and footprint event at the Mann's Chinese Theater.

What's up with silver these days. Katie Holmes showed up in a nice silver dress a-la Katherine Heigl in a silver dress also at her recent premiere. With her short sassy hair do, it seemed like Katie didn't want Tom to leave her side but he finally broke away to sign autographs right when Katie got to the video line.

As for Diane Keaton, as usual she didn't really stop for the photogs. It's like she must be scared of the camera or something or does all the flash give her headaches? It was a bit of a disappointment because she was one of the lead actresses in "Mad Money" along with Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes.

Now Miss Queen Latifah was different story. She was basking in the limelight even to the point of doing some robot and poplocking moves. Thank goodness she went natural with her hair do. She just had it pulled back in a bun.

My favorite Italian chef was there - Miss. Giada DeLaurentiis. I was a bit surprised that some of my event photographer colleagues didn't recognize her. But I got a big thank you and smile from Miss. Giada when I said, "I love your cooking show Giada!"

Up and coming Lebanese actor Haaz Sleiman made a quick pitstop for his own Mad Money. His next big movie will be "The Visitor."
