EL SEGUNDO (June 2, 2008) – Hollywood Roadshow, a partnership between Premiere Props and Super Auctions, announced today that they will be auctioning off thousands of one-of-a-kind movie props, including hundreds of super hero costumes from fan favorite movies and many classic movie themed pinball machines and arcade games, as well as this summer’s superhero Edward (“The Hulk”) Norton’s personal collections. The live auction will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and June 22nd at Premiere Props’ warehouse in El Segundo, California (128 Sierra Street, El Segundo, CA 90245). There will be a preview from 9am – 11am, and the auction will begin at 11am.

Several hundred items from acclaimed films including “No Country for Old Men,” “Star Wars,” “21 Grams,” ”Armageddon,“ “P.S. I Love You,” “Cloverfield,” “27 Dresses, “ “The Love Guru,” “Resident Evil 3,” “Lords of Dogtown” and Edward (“The Hulk”) Norton’s personal collection of costumes and key props from “Fight Club”, “American History X, ”Keeping the Faith,” "The Painted Veil" and “Down in the Valley” plus his personal awards and autographed glove from world championship boxer Oscar De La Hoya will be up for bid with proceeds to benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Additionally, hundreds of movie-themed pinball machines and arcade games including PacMan, Ms. PacMan, Galaga, The Simpson's, Jurassic Park, and many, many more will also be auctioned.

Who's your Guru or better yet, who's your Love Guru? Mike Myers, that's who. In his new movie character since Austin Powers, Myers stars as Pitka in his upcoming feature "The Love Guru." Pitka (Mike Myers) is an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He makes his way back to find fame in the form of the lucrative world of self-help and spirituality seminars and assistance. Craz methods are stretched thin when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife. Roanoke's wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) to spite her husband that causes him to crash and burn professional on the ice while the unfortunate supporters of Roanoke, the teams' owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer), watches helplessly. Pitka re-unite the couple to marital nirvana which hopefully brings Roanoke game back on.

On the blue carpet this past Wednesday, June 11, 2008, Mike Myers shows his unique spirituality as he and Romany Malko gives each other kisses on the cheek. Not a bromance but a mutual respect for the nirvana that is achieved on the big screen.



Myers showed his support by running down Hollywood Blvd and giving the majority of his fans a High Five before returning to the blue carpet for his interviews and the "step and repeat" of event photographers. Myers is definitely a delight for red carpet event photographers as he takes his time to make funny faces and pose for the cameras.

For Justin Timberlake, he's nice guy from Tennessee that doesn't like the spotlight on him, but only when he's performing. He did take a moment to pose for the cameras. But that was a quick moment.



I was one of the fortunate few photogs to actually get him to smile into my lens. My feature writer said that sitting right next to him at "The Love Guru" press junket last week, gave her the feeling that Timberlake exudes humbleness. It would've been nice to see Jessica Biel on his side but tonight was not going to be.

Meagan Good surely did good for herself. Along with her was her fiancee Thomas Jones of the Jets. Love that girl Meagan, when you ask her to "give it" and pose for "an over the shoulder," she game with that.



Looking lovely in a printed dress, she pouted, smiled, blew kisses and waved more than any other actresses I've photographed on the carpet in recent weeks.

For the few minutes that Mariska Hargitay posed on the carpet, she showed her how she can be hot and demure at the same time.



"Pirates of The Caribbean" and "Fast and The Furious" star Reggie Lee, was the first one out of the gate and onto the blue carpet for the premiere. Was he vying to soup up a Zamboni and melt the ice?




Vern Troyer definitely was looking better than he's ever been especially since his "Surreal Life" fiasco. Vern has bounced back in "The Love Guru" and hopefully will bounce higher in the future.



The closest we got to a guru was Deepak Chopra's son Gotham Chopra. Film star Manu Narayan actually grabbed Gotham and persuaded him to take a few shots with him.



Unfotunately, we were not blessed with the presence of Jessica Alba as she just recently had her baby. Maybe next time with an "Over The Shoulder!" pose.

Liv Tyler prefers blue instead of Green on the Carpet

Last Sunday was a nice warm day with a slight hint of a breeze to have the World Premiere of "The Incredible Hulk" at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, CA. (Right next to Universal Studios for those who are not familiar with the area).

Instead of the typical red carpet, we had a light green carpet to contend with. Many of the attendees wore some sort of green colored outfit. For film star Liv Tyler, she opted for a nice short cut Stella McCartney dress. I didn't realize how tall Ms. Tyler was. I was about 300 feet from the start point of the carpet and I could still see the top of her head above all the other photogs that were around the bend where the carpet began.

We were also treated to a surprise visit of the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno. Whoa that man! You definitely don't want to make him mad with those imposing pecs and biceps. As some of you know the original scientist from the tv series was played by Bill Bixby, god rest his soul. However, Brandon Cruz who played Bill Bixby's son on the tv show "The Courtship of Eddie's Father," came out to show his support of "The Incredible Hulk." Along with Brandon was his son, Lincoln Bixby Cruz. Brandon named his son with the Bixby name in honor of Bill.

William Hurt made a pit stop right in front of me asking what kind of camera I had and what kind of lens. He's so used to seeing black colored body digital slrs and obnoxiously long zoom lenses. For me, I had to switch out from my Canon 30D and zoom lens to my back up Canon Digital Rebel and a shorter 18-55mm lens due to some technical difficulties. So imagine a celebrity used to seeing these big monoliths compared to a gray colored camera body and small lens. Well, ha at least I got him to conversate for a a quick minute.



For Mr. Edward Norton it was a quick snap, snap and goodbye as Edward doesn't like all the red carpet bruhaha. For some odd reason, Mr. Norton was another actor fixated on one photographer, my friend Richard who was on a step stool behind me. For three minutes of trying to get Edward to look at our cameras, he just started at Richard's forever and a day. We joked with Richard saying, "What did you do to Edward? Did you do some voodoo to get him to stare at your camera or did you have a 3 minute bromance?"

Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee was also present at the carpet. He was all smiles and happy as usual. We had him give us some sneering looks then I asked him give me a meaner look. He quips back, "You don't want my mean look or you'll regret it."

Samantha's Naked neighbor Dante played by Gilles Marini in "Sex and the City: The Movie" was able to take some time to come to the premiere with clothes on.

All and all it was quick premiere to cover. Good thing there was a lot of room for us as other photogs were covering the TV Land Awards happening the same time.


Michael Copon is definitely able to make the rounds of red carpets quicker than any former Power Rangers.


Alex "Militia" Castro of the new "American Gladiators" show takes time off to rest his muscles to watch the film. Castro was part of the rumour mill that before "American Gladiators" he starred in porn films for outlet called Colt Films.


After talking to my feature writer about this version of The Incredible Hulk, she said that it was way better than the disastrous "Hulk" that was also made by Universal Studios. For fans of the original TV series, this movie is definite must see as there are hints of a few homages to the series.


My good friend Janet Nepales, a Filipina entertainment reporter attends the premiere with her husband Ruben Nepales and family. Both are the only Filipinos that are members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Gina Alexanders bags it for HOPE worldwide

Famous bag designer has been grateful for her successful designer photo handbags and accessories that feature photos of customers and celebrities on her bags, purses and wallets. In turn for her success, she has created her own philanthropic organization called GAPP (Gina Alexander Philanthropy Project) to benefit the HOPE worldwide Philippines foundation.

This past June 1, 2008, Gina hosted a celebrity filled event at the Twin Palms Restaurant in Pasadena, CA. Part of the proceeds to the event will benefit the Hope Center Orphanage and Grief Recovery Plan for under-served children in the Philippines. She is a strong believer in protecting the children all over the world especially those living in the areas of the world that is affected by the AIDS epidemic. According to her company this benefit will be specifically held to raise money for Filipino children who are victims of child prostitution and sexual abuse.

The event started with the opening of the red carpet with various celebrities and performers coming through to make their presence known. Celebrity guests included Chilli from TLC, Kelly Hu, Mark Dacascos (Iron Chef Chairman), Camile Velasco, Rodel Gonzalez of Philippine music group Side A, singer Lara Avengoza, the cast of Disneyland's "High School Musical - Evan Saucedo, Jenny Schoone and Eddie Kaulukukui, the Basco Brothers, and Soapnet.com host Jelynn Rodriguez.

Keeping the event flowing were the masters of ceremony KTLA News' Cher Calvin and actor Michael Copon (best known for his Power Rangers role and one of the Boys in Motion featured in Disney Channel's "That's So Raven.")

Along with raising money for children of the Philippines, Gina Alexander also honored individuals and organizations that have served our global community. The 2008 Honorees were APL.De.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas, Pat Gempel of HOPE worldwide, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, and hosts Cher Calvin and Michael Copon.

The event went without a hitch except for the fact that Ms. Sheila E. had to cancel her performance at the event due to some unexpected travel problems.

Overall, I'd have to say the event producer Ted Benito definitely had made good on this event to the press for the unexpected problems he encountered at the Filipino Visionary Awards he worked on previously. This man was definitely working hard walking back and forth to ensure that the guests and press were treated well. Also, ensuring that event moved smoothly throughout the night. Also big thanks to Crystal of Gina Alexander.

Gary V celebrates 25 Years of Shouting For Joy

For those of you who do not have the privilege of knowing who Gary Valenciano is, let me introduce you. Considered the King of Pop in the Philippines, Gary V has shown his versatility in the last 25 years in Philippine entertainment as a singer, songwriter, composer, producer and actor. Along with his success in the Philipppines, he made a name for himself in the Christian Music community with appearances on the 700 Club and various Christian entertainment outlets. Many critics said that he made the wrong decision half way through his career in embracing his Christian faith onstage. They were definitely wrong.

With a warm heart and a caring personality, Gary V. is also a humanitarian who believes in the children of the world and shows it through his work with UNICEF.



With all those experiences in his life, Gary Valenciano is sharing his 25 years in entertainment with his concert Gary Valenciano 25th Anniversary featuring special guest Martin Nievera and the Jabbawockeez.

This past evening, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, fans and new found fans enjoyed a great selection of songs from Gary's repertoire and songs that influenced throughout his career.


Before the event commenced, we had to wait about an hour for the first act to perform as they were running late getting to the venue. Hmm, there was the Kanye West concert next door at the Staples Center and in the L.A. Convention Center was the Erotica L.A. Porn convention. I wonder if they had a pit stop to each of those respective venues. Seriously though, I was told that one of the Jabbaz sustained a knee injury before the show and APL. De.AP was stuck in traffic.

Starting off the night was the dance crew the Jabbawockeez. These talented group of dancers were the winner's of the reality dance show, "Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew." This was a great decision for Kewlit Co and All Access Concert to start off the Jabbaz as the opening act for Gary V. As they showed their prowess of why they won as America's Best Dance Crew, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. Their performance gave me reason to forgive them for starting late.

Once the Jabbaz left the stage, surprise guest Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas made his way to the stage carrying a Filipino Flag and waving it around.

After a quick singing and rapping, Taboo introduced his band mate APL.De.Ap to the stage. Apl showed the us what it meant to do everything from dance, rap and sing. With is infamous Bebot song, AP got the crowd off their seats shouting "Sigue!"

With the talented trio of the Jabbawockeez, Taboo and APL.de.AP, the crowd was hungry to the main event. Gary V. finally made his premiere appearance on the stage playing the Filipino kulingtan gong drums. Wow what a way to make an entrance, banging on the metal pots that make the melodic native sound then Gary broke into his famous song and dance routines. Seeming like Gary was ready to pass the torch of his gifted entertainment talents, his son Gabriel joined in the fun with his dance moves, vocal prowess and rap skills. He definitely can dance like his father. Even the pelvic moves look more prevalent than dad. But dad definitely shows that he's got it.

Not to be forgotten, his eldest son, Paolo, also joined in the fun. With Paolo, his style of music is more rock than his dad's dance, pop, christian and soul leanings. However, being supportive his son, Gary met him half way with a great medley of songs from a very popular foursome from the 50's. I won't say the group's name so as not to spoil it for other concert goers who are waiting for Gary to perform in their area. This was his first time singing with dad on stage at a concert.

The medley was definitely endearing as the crowd gave Paolo a standing ovation which made Papa Gary smile.

One major high point of the concert was Gary's rendition of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak" a song meant for both parent and child. It was an interesting feat of Gary to sing the song in Italian, English and Tagalog. I think there was a hint of a bit of Spanish also.

After almost at close the the 11/2 half mark of the concert, Gary finally introduced his special guest, Martin Nievera. Gary expounded his excitement of hearing a Martin Nievera song 26 years ago that inspired him and influenced his career. Once on stage, Martin and Gary were like "Rowan and Martin," "George and Gracie" or just plan comedic guys who were able to intertwine each other's songs into this point of the concert.



They even made jokes about being on the Nokia Theater acting like they were on American Idol as both David Archuleta and David Cook. Martin begs that he'd been on "American Idol" if they had it when he was younger.

What can we say about Earth, Wind and Fire. Well, that was one of Gary V's ultimate favorite band. Gary did Earth Wind and Fire justice with a slew of popular songs from the group and even singing "Reasons." Even one of the African American security guards had to turn around to see if the band was actually on stage. To his surprise it was Gary V. belting out the tunes.

After hitting the two hour mark of his show, Gary finally slowed it down with a love song to close the night.

All and all, I have to say thanks to the show producers for keeping the stage element simple with vertical trusses and light effects. No big productions of Gary coming down from the ceiling or entering a motorcyle. His talents was enough to make this concert one of the best that the Nokia Theater has seen since it opened in January 2008.

Jack Black goes Panda on us

It's been a long while since a movie premiere has closed down Hollywood Blvd. This past Sunday morning (Jun 1, 2008) Paramount Pictures/Dreamworks went Kung fu crazy by closing one full block of the Blvd. Groggy eyed event photographers and video crews showed up to the Grauman's around 8a.m. for an 8:30 am checkin. We were greeted with the street of Hollywood transformed into a magical far away cartoonish Chinese Village. But corporate marketing still had its teeth in that village as there was a mobile McDonald's restaurant serving its tasty heart clogging food. Oh wait I take that back, there were bags of apples and fruit served by McDonald's.

There were breakfast stations set throughout the street. One area also included a dance section in which an instructor showed kids how to do the Kung Fu Panda.

After waiting for an 11/2 hours for the premiere to start, we were treated to the sexy Lucy Liu.



Along with Lucy, we had Dustin Hoffman and his wife stroll down the carpet with a lifesize Panda posing along side the couple.



The ever imposing Michael Clark Duncan showed up in red and black. Crazy colors to wear on a warm Sunday morning. He definitely was sweating.



We also finally got Jack Black on the carpet being the crazy guy that he is. From play fighting with the panda and doing Kung Fu moves.



Kung Fu Panda opens June 6. It's a great movie to watch with the kids and if you're children into the martial arts, they'll definitely love this movie. Expect them to do the "heeyah" and Kung fu moves while exiting the theater.
