Harry Potter Hand, Footprint & Wand Ceremony

The magic wand had invaded the Grauman's Chinese Theater this past Monday, July 10, 2007 as Harry Potter came rolling in from Hogwart's Academy to make a permanent mark in Hollywood. Along with his co-stars of the "Harry Potter" franchise, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe had their hands, footprints, signature and wands etched into a slab of cement in a ceremony that drew throngs of crowds to Hollywood.

Good old mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant introduced the threesome to the crowd. As the crowds roared, the young adults looked pleasantly surprised and couldn't believe that they have achieved fame that they graduated to that special select few who have had their hands and footprints permanently affixed to the grounds of the Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The funny thing about the whole event was Mr. Johnny Grant himself. Imagine, hundreds of children attending the special event and Johnny tells everyone to turn to the Hooters Restaurant and wave at the Hooterettes.

Congratulations to "Harry Potter And The Order of The Phoenix!" It grossed about $44million on the first day of opening.

Hairspray Premiere

On an overcast Tuesday afternoon in Westwood, CA, the beehives and the tunes of the 60's hit the streets in front of the Mann's Village Theater. Armed with their hairspay products, Sebastian Hair Stylists took their jabs at recreating those over the top hair styles while talent from the remake of John Waters' "Hairspray" strolled down the red carpet. Fans were in for a treat with Michelle Pfeiffer, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah and others posing for the event photographers and answering questions from the media.

The Queen had long blond hair with outrageously loud yellowish lime dress that matched that crazy hair. Along for the stroll was director Adam Shankman, who took the sample hairsprays and started spraying and smelling the fumes from it. Kind of reminded me of the demented years where kids would get high by spraying aerosol cans and sniffing the fumes from a brown paper bag.

Bruce Vilanch, who played Edna Turnblad on stage, was showing off his tetas (titties) and the morbidly humorous me asks him "Are those real?" Hey I couldn't help it since it was almost a drag role. "Of course!" he said, "They better be mine" At least I got a quick laugh from all around.

Now the Disney and "High School Musical" star Vanessa Anne (she's dropped this now) Hudgens, had a sensual smile for the cameras. She definitely has grown up. As for her co-star and "Hairspray" Link Larkin, Zac Efron shows that he can move past the High School Musical Zone.

Michelle Pfeiffer came through the photo area like the wind. We didn't have enough time to catch her poses. Seemed like she didn't want to leave her hubby's, David E. Kelly, side.

All and all, this was a fun premiere to cover. Free hairspray samples, 1 track cd, temporary tattooes and more...
