Speed Racer cpming down the tracks

We were baking in the warm California this past Saturday as us photogs were waiting for the World Premiere of "Speed Racer" to commence. The excitement of the cult cartoon classic heading to the big screen was intensified with new "Speed Racer" theme and music video playing throughout the new Nokia Theater complex in downtown Los Angeles. So while I gather the words and visuals to help enhance your premiere experience, come check out the music video from the movie:

All eyes on Jessica Alba

Wearing a navy blue dress, Jessica Alba made her noticeable baby bump fashionably vogue. Her radiating face and lovely figure is doing nicely as her pregnancy moves forward. I predict she's going to have a girl.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren proudly poses for the photogs.

Speaking of predictions, Jessica Alba was out in full force with and without her coat on for a cold night of the Los Angeles Premiere of "The Eye." In the Lionsgate feature, Alba plays Sydney Wells, an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. Blind after a childhood accident, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant which gives her sight. Her opthamologist Dr. Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola) help her adjust to her new found sight. However, along with her sight includes seeing the afterlife and beyond. From blurry figures to horrific images, Sydney sees more than she could imagine.

For the sight of the photographers, we didn't see any horrific fashion faux paus. Everyone on the carpet looked lovely. Guests who walked the red carpet included Girard Swan from the film "3:10 To Yuma," Bahar Soomekh of "Traffic," and Brazilian actor Dennis DiAngelo. From the movie, we also had co-directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud, Alessandro Nivola, Obba Babatunde, Fernanda Romera and Danny Mora.

The the dark maned beauty Bahar Soomekh shows how sultry she can be.

"3:10 To Yuma" star Girard Swan still has that roughneck cowboy look going on while wearing a suit.

"The Eye" Co-directors David Moreau and Xavier Palud brings back the grunge look with a mix of clean cut fashion.

The dashingly handsome Alessandro Nivola plays Jessica's opthamologist in the movie.

Fernanda Romera of "The Eye" makes a grand entrance with a tinted purple number.

Hard working film producer Paula Wagner shows that she knows how to work the carpet and strike a pose.

Guest Dennis DiAngelo shows his pearly whites to the camera.

For some of the photographers, Danny Mora was telling his lovely guest that these are the paparazzi. This irritated a few event photographers who actually corrected Danny Mora stating, "We're not chasing celebrities on the street. We've been invited and have credentials to take pictures. We're event photographers." But overall, other than that, the premiere went on without a hitch.

I think I better take some ear plugs next time especially if the lead actress is someone like Jessica Alba.

"The Eye" opens on February 1.

Hudson and McConaughey Search for "Fool's Gold" on Hollywood Blvd

Brrrrr...It's cold in here. There must be something in the atmosphere. Opps, wrong movie. But it definitely was brrrrr cold night for the "Fool's Gold" world premiere at the Grauman's Chinese Theater last night. The wind was also playing tricks on the ladies dresses and the men's styled hair. The wind was so strong that a fellow photographer was almost knocked to the ground but of course your very own blogger grab a hold of the photographer before he could hit the ground.

As for the female lead, Miss Kate Hudson was fashionably late but we forgave her because of her beautiful smile and happy go lucky attitude.

In "Fool's Gold," Hudson plays Tess Finnegan, the lovely wife of Ben "Finn" Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey). All is not good with Tess and Finn as the treasure hunter obsessed with finding the legendary 18th Century Queen's Dowry of exotic treasures lost at sea in 1715 sinks their marriage. After taking control of her own life by working on billionaire Nigel Honeycutt's (Donald Sutherland) yacht, Finn comes back into the picture when he discovers a secret to finding the treasure and uses his charm and witts to manipulate Honeycutt into joining him on the quest for the dowries. Along the way, against her own better judgement, Tess falls back in love with Finn.

The smile on Kate Hudson's face made many event photographers forget that they've been waiting at least 21/2hrs in the bitter windy cold night, to snap the lovable Hudson.

Earlier in the evening, film director Andy Tennant's wife Sharon had her own wardrobe malfunction as she stepped out of their limo. A breeze lifted her dress within seconds of her exiting the limo. Sharon had to dive back in and wrap her coat around her waist.

Sharon wasn't the only one with major malfunctions. Matthew McConaughey's fiance, Camilla Alves had to put her coat back on as the wind played tricks with her dress by blowing the front of the dress upwards. Thank god she was quick to react by putting her purse down in front of her dress.

As for the coldness, I have to give major kudos to Alexis Dziena (plays Donald Sutherland's daughter in the film) as she posed for the photographers for at least 20 to 30 mins without a moment of putting her coat back on. She definitely was a trouper as I shouted to Alexis, "Think of your warm location shoots from the movie." She replied back, "Warm thoughts! Warm thoughts!"

For Donald, his hair was tossed about as the wind started back up on Hollywood Blvd.

Well, it's time for me to take a warm shower and keep me warm for the next movie premiere - "The Eye" starring Jessica Alba.

Until next time on the red carpet, "Over the shoulder!"

"Fool's Gold" opens this coming February 8, 2008. Check your local listings for the theater near you.

Eva Longoria Parker drives past Wisteria Lane with Over Her Dead BodyHe

Tonight, it seemed more like being on Wisteria Lane than on the red carpet for Eva Longoria Parker's new film "Over Her Dead Body." As the traffic started on the red carpet, the Desperate Housewives star had co-stars Felicity Huffman and Nicolette Sheridan stop by to check out what's "Over Her Dead Body."

The first of the Wisteria Lane women was Felicity Huffman dress in all black sans husband William H. Macy. She took some time to take pictures but did not do any video interviews. As for the sultry Nicolette Sheridan, she was dressed in an off white satiny dress with her mate, Michael Bolton, at her side. Nicolette looked blazingly hot as she showered the event photographers with her rays of sexiness.

The lovely Felicity Huffman dressed down for the event.

Nicolette Sheridan looking youthful

As for Mrs. Parker, she dress in a dark pink dress adorned with a flower on the left side of her waist. Her garb definitely help make her face radiate as she beamed with smiles for us to snap away at. Eva definitely can make the list as an angel in heaven. However, in her new film, Eva plays Kate who is killed on her wedding day by a freak accident. Not ready to move on to the next life, Kate lingers on as she sees her fiance starting to fall for Ashley, a psychic who is trying to help Henry (Paul Rudd) get over the loss of his fiance.

Eva looks pretty in pink.

Jason Biggs also strolled the carpet along side with girlfriend Lindsay Zir. They locked lips a few times to show their love for each other. What a cute thing to see especially since the film dealt with love.

Other red carpet rollers included cast members Lake Bell, Kali Rocha, Stephen Root, and Lindsay Sloane. Guest included the dimple smiling Mario Lopez, Matt Cedeno, and Christina Applegate.

The Air I Breathe Premiere Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Brendan Fraser and Andy Garcia

Last night, ThinkFilm and h Magazine presented the Los Angeles Premiere of "The Air I Breathe" starring Andy Garcia, Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Forest Whitaker, all happening at the Arclight Theaters in Hollywood.

The film is about a businessman (Forest Whitaker) who bets his life on a horse race, a gangster (Brendan Fraser) who can see the future, and a pop star (Sarah Michelle Gellar) whose life becomes entangled with a crime boss (Andy Garcia) and a doctor (Kevin Bacon) who must save the crime boss' life. The stories of each individual segues into each other to dramatize the four emotional cornerstones in life which include happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love.

The stars last night didn't have to worry about any of those life's emotions as they walked the red carpet.

Sarah Michelle Gellar looked stunning in your aqua hued dress that reminded me of some type of Egyptian inspired fashion motiff.

Brendan Fraser was all dressed in black as he was entranced by the photographers screaming out Sarah's name.

John Cho of "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" fame, was more low keyed in a relaxed sports jacket and a t-shirt emblazoned with the words "No Pictures." Interesting. Did he mean he didn't want any pictures to be taken of him or that there are no pictures being filmed because of the writers' strike?

Phoebe Price's dress matched her fiery red hair as she walked the carpet. One ambitious photographer got her to stand next to the Tribal jewelry cart and act like she was shopping for some costume jewelry.

Mr Andy Garcia had a quick pace on the carpet as he doesn't seem to like the picture taking part of the carpet. He looked a bit serious but we know he's not as serious as he thinks. Just that afternoon during the press junket for the movie, my feature writer colleague asked him about his "New Dream Project" and he replied back, "Oh, my nude dream project!" Hmmm...a jokester in disguise?

The film director Jieho Lee was accompanied by his famous Korean actress wife Min Kim.

Unfortunately, Mr Whitaker and Mr. Bacon did not show up to the premiere. Oh well there goes my 1 degree of separation from Kevin Bacon.

Heigl only likes 1 of the 27 Dresses

It was a cold Monday evening this past January 7, 2008 at The Mann's Village Theater in Westwood, CA. Waiting for the premiere for "27 Dresses" to commence, had my fingers slightly frozen. Imagine the actresses in their opulent dresses, they'd definitely be cold. The first on the carpet was Maria Menounos who at first was not about to take off her coat. With a little coaxing from the event photographers, she finally relented and showed us her beautiful red colored dress. There was a bit of a draft that caused her dress to ride up a bit but she was able to grab hold of her dress before she had a Marilyn Monroe accident.

From then on, we thought that this event would live up to the expectation of a wedding reception. To no avail, for the next half hour, lesser known talent paraded their way on the red carpet. Finally, we had the lovely Judy Greer make her appearance.

Jennifer Love Hewitt made a surprise appearance with her man. No matter what the tabloids say about her figure, she definitely looked faboo.

After much anticipation, 27 women came waltzing down the carpet dresses in the specially made bridesmaid dresses adorned with the movie credits and became the backdrop of the red carpet. For video that was great but for us event photographers, it created a bit of a blur for our background. Once these lovely ladies staked their spots, Miss Heigl or shall I say Mrs. Kelley along with her new husband waltzed on down the carpet with the smiles of a newlywed couple. Dressed in a silver dress adorned with what looked like crystals, Heigl braved the cold weather and smiled the whole time. As for the 27 bridesmaid dresses she wore for the movie, she mentioned that their was only one she enjoyed wearing. Believe it or not, it was a Gone With The Wind inspired dress. She just loved feeling like a southern belle.
